Government Polytechnic, Jagatsinghpur has been established during the year 2017, under the MHRD Scheme “ Submission of Polytechnics”.
The institute has been approved by the AICTE for the session 2017-18 with 60 seats each in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering , total intake capacity is 180 seats.
Now it has 02 additional branches as Electrical Engineering & Petrochemical Engineering with intake capacity of 60 & 30 respectively.
As the institution is located in a rural area, to attract the poor parents to admit their children into technical education different financial incentives are given to SC/ST/Economically Backward Class/OBC etc.
The institute is located at a distance of 19 KMs from district headquarters of Jagatsinghpur, in a remote, pollution free “JAMUGAON” village fully surrounded with greenery. The institution has been started with an aim to make the students skilled and take part in “Make in Odisha” & “ Make in India” programmes coming up in a big way in side the state and across the country.
