Skill Development & Technical Education Department of the Government of Odisha started this polytechnic in the year 2017-18 with approval of AICTE, New Delhi. With affiliation to the State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Odisha; it has 3 Year courses on Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering branches.

The students given admission are being selected through Direct entry through online fill-up of forms.

The minimum eligibility for admission is a pass in  Higher Secondary Certificate from Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or pass in equivalent certificate such as C.B.S.E,New Delhi, I.C.S.E,New Delhi and other boards..
